Job Description and Responsibilities

The Roofing Service Sales/Estimator is responsible for business development of our preventative maintenance service contract product. Successful candidate will sell to new and existing clients and schedule sales appointments via self-generated leads and using the consultative approach outlined in the Sandler sales system. The Roofing Service Sales/Estimator will work in a business-to-business setting in which they will cover an assigned territory and build a portfolio of accounts via prospecting and referrals. Due to the nature of the services that Tecta America offers, the Roofing Service Sales/Estimator will very rarely make one-call closes. In most cases Roofing Service Sales/Estimator will build client relationships over the course of a sales cycle that may last up to 18 months and require multiple sales calls. This position reports to the Senior Vice President of the National Business Unit.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Attend sales meetings and teleconferences.
• Prospect via cold calls, emails, door-to-door calls, networking and referrals.
• Follow up on direct mail campaigns.
• Set up sales appointments with key decision makers at prospective client companies.
• Establish rapport and develop long-term business relationships with clients over the course of an extended sales cycle.
• Make sales presentations and partner with clients to establish their needs.
• Present clients with the most appropriate solutions.
• Assemble proposals and reports for clients.
• Submit all contacts and documentation in a timely manner.
• Maintain all sales activity in the Tecta CRM program.
• Follow up with clients on a periodic basis to ensure that their expectations are being met and to get referrals.
• Work with office to conduct marketing events to generate additional leads and referrals.
• Coordinate with service manager and sales supervisor to develop sales strategies and, when necessary, to close deals.
• Perform other related tasks as may be assigned.
Education/Experience: High School Diploma or equivalent is required; Bachelors or Associates Degree in Business, Communications, Construction, Marketing or Management is preferred; 3 – 5 years sales experience in roofing, construction or a related field is preferred; strong commercial roofing experience is a plus; or equivalent combination of education, experience and training.

• Ability to apply negotiation skills to a variety of sales situations.
• Ability to manage/qualify leads and close business through direct contact or over the phone.
• Excellent track record in developing relationships with a high degree of integrity and trust.
• Solid verbal, written, interpersonal and listening skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft applications including SharePoint and CRM.
• Ability to climb ladders and walk/inspect roofs.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
• Proven track record of client retention.
• Professional sales training methodology, such as Sandler.
• Knowledge of business and management principles.
• Well organized; adept at planning work and managing time.
